A Call for Prayer in Uganda

Uganda’s stay-at-home order in response to COVID-19 has left many fearful they will die of hunger rather than the virus.
There is terrible hunger in the country with single mothers, and orphans often the worst impacted. The present poverty is heart breaking!
Government has promised to supply food to those areas most impacted but unfortunately the plans are failing due to lack of infrastructure. The government is calling upon churches and other non-profit organizations to step up and rescue the masses from death.
In a recent update from our partner with the Kampala International Christian Centre ( KICC), Bishop Elijah Sebuchu, we were appraised of the following:
Yesterday May 18, 2020 , I led our KICC team and specifically the Lovelink Project , to Kayunga district. You will be pleased to know that the incomplete Church that you are building with us was a great help for us as you will see in the photos.
We lined up 287 family leaders and served each of them foods and soap to take home. If you would like to specifically reach out to Kayunga Church area and serve the hungry families over there in this very trying Covid-19 dark times, there are still 724 families in the neighborhoods. With $100 per month, we can provide food stuff, sanitization soap, salt etc. to an average family of 8 people (usually the average size of families in Uganda).
Psalm 91 has become our song. We’ve encouraged all our children , staff and pastors to make it their every day song. Despite of all the troubles and uncertainties, The Lord God remains our Refuge And Dwelling Place.
Thank you so much for serving with us. Together we can make all the difference. Your brother serving The Lord God and His people,
Elijah Sebuchu
