Open Heaven

In 2018 Harvest Foundation sent a team of 8 men to Uganda for about 10 days to volunteer our time at the Kayunga building project.

While there we carried brick, mixed mortar, and laid the brick for the walls. We also engaged with the village people and the many, many children. Playing with them, laughing with them, and of course… giving out candy.

First time having Tootsie Rolls…

In 2019 Harvest Foundation was in the planning stages of sending another team to Uganda for a second trip to the project site. In preparing and praying about the trip I felt the Spirit of God whisper into my spirit to “hit the pause button”.

At first I was a little confused about what I heard. As I shared this with some Board Directors and team members it became clear and was confirmed that we were to take the money that we would have spent on this trip and send it over to Uganda to further along the building.

So, we were obedient and sent $22,000 to keep the work going. As a result, the walls are up, the floors are finished, and we are now at the point of putting the roof on.

In 2020 we are praying and believing God to bring the funds needed to complete the roof. We have raised approximately $60,000 of the project cost. We are praying for the $30,000 needed to finish the roof.

In doing so the building would be ready to hold services for the village people during Christmas.

What the Lord has started He is faithful to finish. (Hebrews 10:23)

I was there ! Great to see the progress…they work hard and fast in Uganda :-). Exciting that they can utilize the building once they get a roof. No occupancy permits…sweet.
